Monday was a day I won’t soon forget.

It was the launch of my third book, From Unknown to Unforgettable: How to Build a Personal Brand That Goes Beyond the Bio, and what a night it turned out to be. We hosted the event at the Hilton Savage Garden rooftop bar in Tower Hill.

As the founder and CEO of Moja, I’ve had my fair share of events, but this one felt particularly personal. This book was inspired by my podcast, Beyond the Bio, and was solely a team Moja affair from start to finish. We developed every aspect of the production and publishing journey ourselves, which also marks the launch of my new business venture…

Having the awesome Sara Davies MBE from BBC One’s Dragons’ Den write the foreword was an honour, and receiving heavy praise from business buddies such as Daniel Priestley, and social media powerhouse Simon Squibb added so much weight to the message I want to convey.

The evening kicked off with a Q&A session, which was one of the highlights for me. Linda Plant, often dubbed the ‘queen of mean’ for her tough interview style on The Apprentice, was there to put me through my paces. I have to say, I was a little nervous, knowing Linda’s reputation for her no-nonsense questioning. But, true to form, she was brilliant—challenging me in all the right ways and really getting into the thought process behind the book.

“It was a fabulous evening to celebrate the launch of Sophie’s book, and I always enjoy putting entrepreneurs through their paces with my interview questions!” Linda remarked, much to the amusement of our guests. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner for the evening.

The book itself, From Unknown to Unforgettable, is meant to be a toolkit—a no-nonsense, honest approach to building a personal brand. It’s about more than just a polished bio; it’s about crafting a narrative that truly resonates and makes a lasting impact. I’m thrilled to see the reception it’s already getting.

Another highlight of the evening was announcing my newest venture, Moja Publishing. This new arm of the business is all about helping authors write, create, and distribute their work across various formats, and I’m so excited about the possibilities it opens up. Additionally, the event allowed us to shine a spotlight on Smart Works Newcastle, our official charity partner. All sales from the book during launch week are being donated to this fantastic organisation, which provides high-quality interview clothes and coaching to unemployed women in need.

Reflecting on the evening, I’m filled with gratitude. The support from friends, colleagues, and my business network has been overwhelming. Writing this book was a labour of love, and to celebrate its release surrounded by so many wonderful people was the icing on the cake.

As the launch week continues, I’m looking forward to our next event in Newcastle on the 5th of September. For those who prefer digital formats, the eBook version of From Unknown to Unforgettable is available for just 0.99p until the 6th of September, and it’s also available in paperback and Audible formats.

I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next. The goal has always been clear: to help others elevate their personal brands and make their mark in their industries. And this is just the beginning.
