Still not convinced about video?

Still not convinced about video?

Video is a fantastic marketing tool but some people still think making videos is expensive and time-consuming. This is old-fashioned thinking, and it’s also true that videos do not even have to be professionally produced to add value. You only have to look at TikTok to realise that video is now everywhere, and all you need is a mobile phone to make marketing videos.

Expensive corporate video is no longer the only game in town, now the humble mobile phone is your access to success in the video space. It’s time to embrace what all the cool kids are doing and start making content where the message is more important than how the video looks. Look at some of the greatest bands in history, they only knew a few chords and couldn’t really play. Yet they got successful because they had something to say. It’s the same with video, we are in a social video revolution baby and it’s time to jump aboard.

In case you are still not convinced about the power of video I wanted to take an opportunity to share some information to help explain what all the fuss is about. Hold onto your hats and read some stats.

‘Studies show that 54% of consumers want to see more video content from a brand or business they support (HubSpot, 2018).’

That’s right, even if you are currently making videos over half of your consumers still want more!

‘The latest video marketing statistics show that 86 percent of marketing professionals use video as a marketing tool (Wyzowl, 2021).’

This is a huge number of marketers currently using video as a marketing tool, If you are not, you are missing out. Feeling any FOMO yet?

93% of marketers say they’ve landed a new customer thanks to a video on social media (Optinmonster, 2019).

Video posts on LinkedIn are shared 20 times more than other content formats

Videos that are 30-90 seconds long work best on LinkedIn.

So you only need a 30 second clip of you or someone on your team speaking to camera to get started. Dont worry about the lighting or framing, just worry about the message.

To unleash the power of video on social media you just need to record a clip on your phone and share it. Then repeat weekly or even monthly. it’s that simple.

If you want to ramp up your production value and gain some more brand awareness you can use editing tools like IMovie or if you don’t want to edit, you can use shoutout.social  to make branded videos automatically. Yes of course I am biased, but it really is an incredible tool to simplify your video making process. It’s come from nearly 40 years of creating content and I am on a mission to make video super easy for everyone.

So why not get started by just sharing some clips on your phone now and build up to a more professional solution over time. Making marketing videos is like going to the gym, it’s undeniably a great thing to do and can provide a huge amount of benefits, you just need to do it.
