Swoop Funding has announced that it has entered into a global partnership with software specialists Sage. A recently published press release stated that the partnership will help SMEs identify funding opportunities, while also reducing costs in areas such as energy, banking and foreign exchange.

Swoop is a ‘fintech’ company that specialises in providing funding solutions, while Sage has long been a leader in the world of accounting, human resources and payroll technology. This collaboration will assist businesses and accountants to access a wide range of funding opportunities, as well as unlock business savings.

According to the press release, ‘Access to finance is one of the main barriers to growth for small to medium sized businesses globally. And this partnership aims to overcome this barrier and provide access to funding.’

The press release continued: ‘Sage accountants benefit through a discounted price for the Swoop for Advisors platform. This allows accountants and business advisors easy access to grants, equity investment and loans.

Swoop users can also integrate their Sage cloud accounting software to uncover financial insights, unlock business savings, and enjoy access to financial tools such as cash flow forecasting.’

Andrea Reynolds, the chief executive of Swoop, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Sage, which allows us to bring our funding expertise to businesses and advisors worldwide. Together, we will simplify the path to financial empowerment for businesses of all sizes.

“In today’s dynamic economic landscape, businesses often face challenges to secure the financial capital they need to grow and thrive. Research conducted by the Sage Foundation has highlighted that a lack of financial resources remains one of the most significant obstacles that businesses encounter on their journey to success.”

Chip Mahan, the global commercial head of payments and banking at Sage, explained: “In a world full of fluctuations, and with inflation and interest rates on the rise, businesses are facing unprecedented challenges. Therefore, it is important to make business finance more accessible and less daunting.

“This partnership with Swoop aligns perfectly with our mission and will make the accessing of capital quick and easy. It will ensure that businesses have the support they need to succeed. By joining forces, Swoop and Sage will simplify and expedite the process of accessing vital funding.

“This innovative partnership will enable advisors and businesses around the world to effortlessly explore and tap into various funding options that best suit their unique needs.”

Micheál Martin, Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, added: “I am delighted to acknowledge that Swoop and Sage have developed an effective funding platform that will assist the small and medium enterprise sector.

“This partnership combines the advanced technology platform of Swoop, with Sage’s globally-recognised cloud-based accounting software. It will become a great facility for company leaders, as they seek to explore funding options.

“The partnership marks a significant step towards levelling the playing field for businesses. It will also help to drive global economic growth. Thanks to this collaboration, the future looks brighter for entrepreneurs and businesses worldwide.”

The press release also explained that company owners ‘now have a user-friendly platform that connects businesses and accountants, with the financial resources they require. The partnership opens up a wide range of funding opportunities for businesses, including grants, loans and equity investments.

‘The platform also streamlines the application and approval process. Trusted advisors, such as accountants and financial professionals, will also benefit from this partnership thanks to the software tools and resources that will guide their clients through their funding journeys.’
