At SuiteConnect London, its flagship UK event, Oracle NetSuite announced new AI advancements aimed to boost productivity and streamline day-to-day operations for its customers.
NetSuite’s EMEA senior vice president, Nicky Tozer, took to the stage to outline how technological advancements like AI are shaping the future – and helping businesses respond to constant change.
“We’ve all learned, through years and years of disruption, that the only thing we can absolutely count on is the way we run our own organisations – and how adaptable we make them to handle whatever comes our way. And yet, even amid all this change, you must find ways to not only survive, but grow. The best way to help ensure you’re poised for growth is to have a powerful technology foundation – one that can help you weather the storms and capitalise on the sunny days as your environment constantly changes.”
“AI is no longer tomorrow’s technology. It’s ready now to deliver practical results, to help businesses of all sizes. And as we’ve all seen in just the past few months, the AI landscape continues to develop at a breakneck pace,” said Tozer.
Built in, not bolted on
While NetSuite has already introduced generative AI tools in the suite, it believes new AI features reflect the way the technology is rapidly evolving. Patrick Puck, Group Vice President, AI Strategy, Engineering and Design explained NetSuite’s approach:
“As AI continues to develop in quantum leaps and we are delivering the most cutting-edge functionality to you – we’re doing that as part of the Suite – built in, not bolted on. We’re not charging you extra for AI, it is going to be intrinsic to every part of NetSuite.”
“We will embed AI naturally into each of your workflows, advising and assisting you in greater and greater measure and super charging NetSuite’s core benefits: insight, control, agility, collaboration, productivity,” said Puck.
New AI features – what’s new?
The embedded NetSuite Text Enhance feature, announced in 2024, is getting an upgrade, with Text Enhance for custom fields. Using Prompt Studio, administrators and developers can now configure AI-generated text suggestions in any tone, format or creativity level for any custom text field in NetSuite to help improve data quality and enhance AI-assisted workflows.
Businesses can now also get their own personal AI assistant within NetSuite. NetSuite Expert for SuiteAnswers is designed to provide an AI agent to deliver tailored NetSuite guidance on support resources. For example, users can ask how-to questions and the agent will search thousands of support articles to rapidly deliver answers specifically tailored to you.
“You’ve got a business to run, but sometimes you still have questions,” said Puck. “So what we’ve done is we trained NetSuite Expert on all the documentation and help articles across NetSuite’s Help Center. So now you simply ask a question in your own words, and the NetSuite Expert will search for all the documentation and find the right answer for you.”
The new NetSuite Financial Exception Management agent will help organisations increase efficiency and mitigate risk by automatically detecting and managing financial exceptions with agentic AI:
“We built a new super sophisticated AI infrastructure and machine learning platform to train private and bespoke models for every one of you, completely secure,” said Puck. “What I love most about this agent is that it continues to learn from your data every single day. For you, it just works. We’ve done all the heavy lifting behind the scenes. You don’t have to set it up. You don’t have to teach what to do. It alerts you proactively if it sees any transactions that are online, and I’m really happy to announce that we will bring the financial exception management agent to the UK.”
Continuing the finance theme, NetSuite has also taken aim at invoicing improvements with Bill Capture, designed to help organisations leverage AI and machine learning to automate the entire invoice capture process. With Bill Capture, invoice record fields are automatically populated with the appropriate details, applying intelligent data recognition and learnings from previous vendor invoices to improve accuracy.
Meanwhile, Prompt Management API can help businesses simplify AI integrations and customisations by centralising the management and deployment of prompts used by large language models in NetSuite. NetSuite also announced SuiteAnalytics Assistant, designed to drive better decision-making and expand insights by enabling users to retrieve information from their workbooks and create reports and visualisations with SuiteAnalytics and generative AI via a natural language interface. In addition, Generative AI for SuiteScript API helps organisations quickly introduce new AI-powered functionality and gain more value from NetSuite by enabling them to embed generative AI capabilities into NetSuite extensions and customisations.
“Organisations in the UK are looking to AI to help them be more productive and do more with less, but knowing where to start can be overwhelming,” said Evan Goldberg, founder and executive vice president, Oracle NetSuite. “With our AI built in, not bolted on and by offering it at no additional cost, NetSuite is helping customers reduce the barrier to entry and quickly and easily benefit from the latest advancements to gain deeper insights and boost efficiency.”
