The UK’s leading business brains are honoured at 10th anniversary event in central London.

There was an excellent turnout at Grosvenor House in London for the Grand Final of this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

More than 90 gongs were presented to award winners on an action-packed day in the English capital, with the Blue Riband prize of Great British Entrepreneur of the Year being won by Jordan Brompton, the co-founder of myenergi.

This glorious occasion recognises and celebrates the UK’s most inspiring entrepreneurial business leaders, with the event organised in partnership with Starling Bank.

The 2022 edition was attended by more than 1,400 entrepreneurs and colleagues, with as many as 98 business leaders named among the long list of category winners. Collectively, the companies owned or run by this group of talented UK business leaders generated a turnover of £2bn during the past 12 months.

These businesses also employ more than 17,000 people and the event founder, Francesca James, said: “This 10th anniversary was our biggest and best yet, as we celebrate Britain’s most ambitious, driven and inspirational entrepreneurs.

“Having been involved with this event for the past decade, I can honestly say it remains a great honour. We’ve learnt so much from hearing all of their unique stories and perspectives.

“The extraordinary circumstances of the last few years have tested the resilience of our business communities. But these business owners didn’t pack it in and walk away. They responded through ingenuity, innovation and the ability to adapt. Ultimately, they thrived.

“These challenges certainly haven’t gone away, and the next few years will present new obstacles to overcome. But one only needs to look around the room to see some of the truly special founders and doers. We’d like to congratulate all of our 2022 winners for their hard work and achievements. We look forward to following your lead into 2023 and beyond.”

This 10th anniversary gathering also included one new category, named the John Caudwell Blaze Your Own Trail Award. This recognises organisations and individuals who provide non-traditional routes into employment through apprenticeships, on-job training and work experience placements.

The founder of Starling Bank, Anne Boden, added: “Entrepreneurs, up and down the country, and across so many different industries, have demonstrated how innovative and resilient they have been during these uncertain times. The awards are a celebration of their success and congratulations to all of them.”
