New business TV reality show on Amazon Prime Video

Exciting television series set to be unveiled mid-May.

Amazon Prime Video will be launching their brand new business reality show called ‘Ready Set StartUp.’ Featuring 10 young British and Irish entrepreneurs, the contestants will go head-to-head in search of the lucrative £100k prize.

‘Ready Set StartUp’ enjoyed a triumphant premiere at MIPTV in Cannes, last month. MIPTV stands for Marché International des Programmes de Télévision which, when translated, means International Market for Television Programs.

According to a press release, published this week: ‘The show presents a riveting mix of challenges to test a contestant’s skills and business acumen. This ground-breaking series brings together 10 early-stage entrepreneurs with exciting business ideas to battle it out for a £100,000 investment.

‘It will refine their business ideas along the way, under the guidance of industry experts.’ These include Alison Edgar, known as The Entrepreneur’s Godmother, and mortgage supremo Ying Tan who is a self-made businessman. The series will be available from May 17 and is presented by Irish broadcaster Simon Atkins.

The panel of judges consist of successful entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. These include Tom Blomfield (founder of Monzo), Angelika Burawska (chief operating officer of SFC Capital) and Eamonn Carey, the former managing director of Tech Stars.

And the press release continued: ‘The series offers a compelling blend of entertainment and education about the world of business. Its innovative format, which debuted in Cannes, has been well-received by audiences and critics alike. Buyers and distributors from around the globe were in attendance at the premiere, and interest in acquiring rights for the series was high.’

Tom Blomfield said: “It’s about time for a fresh business format. ‘Ready Set StartUp’ is far more relatable than current offerings. It’s exciting, entertaining and fresh, with so much to learn about the world of business.”

The show is produced and owned by Pictures in Motion, which is a production company dedicated to creating business and entrepreneurial formats, that will entertain, be meaningful, inspire and educate.
