Competition to find newest digital agency underway

LONDON Advertising's competition is finally under way, offering a unique opportunity for a digital agency start-up

Competition to find newest digital agency underway

Supported by funding from the Government’s new Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme, the competition will be offering one start-up everything it needs to become part of a new wave of digital advertising agencies.

Aside from a substantial £100,000 investment under the Seed EIS and an equity stake in the business, the winning pitch will receive support and guidance as it launches its new agency. A high profile launch in the national media is sure to build massive awareness of their brand, whilst access to LONDON’s global client list and international network will guarantee that their venture will be a global business right from the off. Additionally, personal mentoring by the board and advisors of LONDON and legal support from Lewis Silkin’s Media, Brands & Technology means that the winner will have a vast amount of knowledge and expertise at their disposal.

So what does the future hold for the competition? After its high profile launch by David Cameron at Number 10 and now that all the entries are in, the exciting part of the competition can begin. On August 7 the shortlist will be announced and all successful applicants will be provided with their briefs. Candidates will then just have four short weeks to prepare for the scrutiny of the ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitch on September 7, facing a panel featuring judges from Samsung, Warner Bros. and Bupa. Finally the team that has been selected to become the UK’s next big digital agency will be revealed on September 14.

Given the rewards that are at stake, this is a very exciting competition and one that will be pretty closely watched – not least by us. We’ll be providing you the shortlist as soon as it hits the desk, not to mention blow-by-blow coverage of the competition as it unfolds. So make sure you keep checking these pages…
