National Business Awards 2015 finalists announced

We all know the adage that hard work is its own reward. But whilst this may contain a grain of truth, we’re sure few would turn their noses up at the chance to be recognised as one of Britain’s best businesses or entrepreneurs. Which is why there must be more than a few excited faces out there in light of the news that the finalists have been announced for The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards 2015.

The awards are set to recognise Britain’s brightest enterprises and business leaders, covering companies that vary wildly in size, with teams that range from under 20 to over 70,000 and turnovers from under £1m to over £25m. Whittled down from hundreds of nominees across 18 categories to scarcely more than 140 finalists, those shortlisted will now have to make live presentations in front of expert judging panels, with the final winners being announced at the awards ceremony on November 10.

The Smith & Williamson Entrepreneur of the Year finalists feature, amongst others, Titus Sharpe, co-founder of MVF, and Debra Charles, founder of Novacroft. Meanwhile, The Duke of York New Entrepreneur of the Year finalists include Avin Rabheru, founder of Housekeep, and Cassandra Harris, founder of Venturespring. And some of the companies listed as UKTI Growth Business of the Year finalists were Better Bathrooms, First Utility and Paymentsense, whilst HelloFresh, ILG and Pooch & Mutt are among those up for Lloyds Bank Small to Medium-Sized Business of the Year.

“The quality and range of this year’s entries exceed even those of last year, which is no mean feat,” said Tom Broughton, programme director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards. “The draw of being involved with the awards has seen companies from all kinds of industries submit applications, which have been narrowed down using our thorough and comprehensive judging process. We are now looking forward to the next step of the process and meeting some of the finalists face-to-face.”

Colin Stevens, CEO and founder of Better Bathrooms and EB cover star, added: “It’s fantastic news to be shortlisted in the UKTI Growth Business of the Year and in the Employer of the Year categories. I strive to create a culture of innovation, giving each employee a sense of ownership of the business and rewarding and promoting from within. This helps mould talent and nurture progression and it’s great to see staff progress and grow with the company. I’d have it no other way. I believe in my team and this nomination is a team effort.”

Head on over to the National Business Awards site to see the shortlist in full. We’re sure you’ll join us in wishing the finalists all the best of luck.
