UK’s top businesses honoured in glitzy gala event for the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards
Businesses provide products and services to the masses, enhancing and transforming people’s lives within their sectors. Now, 16 outstanding businesses across the country have been recognised for their efforts at the 18th Lloyds Bank National Business Awards. 
Some of the UK’s most innovative businesses and organisations were rewarded for their excellence at the prestigious awards ceremony, attended by 1200 business leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians and the members of the media. A total of 16 trophies were given out to top companies which showed great leadership, innovative strategies, entrepreneurial skills and exceptional customer service.
The Artificial Intelligence Business of the Year Award went to Darktrace, one of the world’s leading AI company for cyber defence. Meanwhile, The Castle Corporate Financial Scale-Up Business of the Year Award was granted to ReBound, an online retail sector that offers smarter international retail solutions for over 500 brands. Pro-Football Academy Ltd, a professional football and coaching provider won The Lloyds Bank New Business of the Year Award. 
Businesses who left a positive impact on society were also recognised for their good work. Company Shop Group was awarded the Lloyds Bank Positive Social Impact Award for their social enterprise Community Shop, where families can shop for surplus food at affordable prices. One SME, MNB Precision, snagged the title as The Lloyds Bank Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year Award. The family-run engineering firm is now run by its third generation, serving more than 40 customers across the world. 
DPD UK was recognised for providing exceptional customer service, and were honoured with the The Virgin Atlantic Customer Experience & Loyalty Award. DPD is UK’s leading domestic parcels carrier, delivering 250 million parcels a year for 8,000 customers including leading brands such as ASOS, M&S, John Lewis, Gousto, EE and Nike.
Entrepreneurs were also recognised for their start-up companies. Jordan McCabe was given the iNews New Entrepreneur of the Year Award as Founding Director of Aztec Diamond Equestrian, a UK-based equestrian fashion brand. Dr Nik Kotecha OBE, CEO of Morningside Pharmaceuticals was honoured with The Inflexion Entrepreneur of the Year Award. James Timpson, Chief Executive of Timpsons stepped on stage to receive The Leader of the Year Award, recognised the family retail business which has been running since 1865, with over 2,113 shops across the country.
Stiltz Ltd took the The Lloyds Bank Exporter of the Year Award, Aggreko was granted the The Experian Data Excellence Award and Weston College were given the Give a Grad A Go Employer of the Year Award, SCX Ltd received the Innovation Award. In addition, Verastar Group (Etihad Topco) won the The Lloyds Bank Mid-Market Business of the Year Award and Palletforce were awarded the The Vonage Business Enabler of the Year Award.
